COVID-19 UPDATE
Due to Covid-19, our volunteer walk groups are currently suspended. If you would like to volunteer, we have foster and transport opportunities. If required to enter the shelter for either of these reasons, you must wear a mask. We will update as soon as walk groups are allowed. FRIENDS OF THE TIPTON COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER
A Bit of Background
In January of 2019, we identified a need for dog walkers at our local Tipton County Animal Shelter. While walking dogs, we were made aware that there were few funds to help with the medical care of the dogs and cats in the shelter. We decided to become a 501 (c) 3 so that we could change that. Since our partnership with Munford Animal Hospital, we have vetted over 80 animals with the generous support of our community.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
SHELTER VOLUNTEER
Weekly dog walking groups come to the shelter to help socialize the dogs. Groups usually meet Monday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings from 9-11 am. Dog walkers must be 18+ and sign a liability waiver.

Interested in helping cats? Please call the shelter at 901-837-5919. No age limit, but an adult must be present with minors.
TRANSPORT
We work with several rescue partners locally and in other states. We are always needing volunteers to transport anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours away. Transport destinations include airports, vet clinics, and meeting other transporters.
FOSTERING
We are always in need of medical and short term fosters. If you are willing to let a furry friend crash at your house, click here to fill out an application. FOTCAS provides all supplies needed.
